Essential oil composition of two endemic Nepeta L. (Lamiaceae) taxa from Southwestern Turkey

Nepeta L. is one of the important genus in Lamiaceae family. It includes ca. 300 herbaceous species and mostly grows Eurasia. represented Turkey by 40 taxa these 16 are endemic. commonly utilized traditional medicine local people, primarily as spasmolytic, diuretic, bronchodilator agents. As a consequence studies on taxa, terpenoids flavonoids have been identified most common components. In this report, chemical contents two endemic (N. viscida from Buharkent/Aydın N. nuda subsp. lydiae Altınyayla/Burdur) were presented. The main constituents determined α-terpineol (20.59%), trans-β-caryophyllene (9.90%) spathulenol (9.37%) for viscida, 1,8-cineole (31.31%), borneol (18.95%) caryophyllene oxide (14.59%) lydiae.
